Scope and Outcome

The competition is restricted to conceptual design and sizing of an amphibious plane capable of water scooping or chemical spraying for fire-fighting operations. It is a configuration and system design project aimed at arriving at a viable design from a plethora of available configurations and technologies, which can be taken up for a detailed design and development program later.

Evaluation Criteria

The Evaluation Criteria for each stage of NACDeC-V is listed vide Appendix-II. 

A team of volunteers and experts lead by the Convener of NACDeC-V will conduct the Webinars, and carry out an evaluation of the initial concepts, shortlisting of the teams for the final presentation, and declaration of the winners. The decisions of the NACDeC-V organizers will be final and binding on all the competitor teams, and no objections will be entertained.

NACDeC Webinars

Regular online webinars will be conducted via the ZOOM platform on various aspects related to the topic of NACDeC-V. The aim of these webinars is to clarify any doubts that the teams may have related to the rules and regulations of NACDeC-V, mission requirements, or to seek information and guidance on carrying out the various tasks by experts who will conduct them.

The final round of NACDeC-V was conducted on 20th August 2022 in physical mode at the Aeronautical Society of India building, Bengaluru where these Top-5 teams presented their designs to the panel of judges.
